Background : The English Spot is a very old breed that was breed extensively in England from as early as 1880, the original breeding stock was imported to America, It is said that the English spot came from the Checked Giant and from a white or spotted wild rabbit they should have a butterfly nose, chain markings is very important , cheek spot, colored ears and herringbone stripe

Because of the butterfly nose it is called “Lappin Papillon Angalias” the English Butterfly rabbit ,(papillon is French for butterfly)

Medium length meaty body. Has a body type of a commercial rabbit fairly slender, and the legs are long. The ears are carried upright coat a nose marking in the shape of a butterfly, a spot on each cheek, circles around each eye, colored ears, a line with ragged edges down the spine, color on top of the tail, a chain of spots its sides, a spot on each elbow and the back of each hind foot
