Holland Lop : . Taken from the ARBA Standard of Perfection
The Holland Lop is the dwarf variety of the lop eared rabbits, -.
Physical Attributes: Holland Lop is the smallest breed of the lop family. It is characterized for having a bulky, stocky and a muscular body; its ideal weight is 3 lb to 4 pounds some may reach 5 lbs The Holland Lop is to be compact and well balanced in length, width, and depth. The shoulders and chest should be broad and well filled, same as the hindquarters. The head being massive in appearance setting high on the shoulders and close to the shoulders showing no neck. With the depth almost equal at the top of the shoulder as over the hindquarters. The legs are to be short, thick, straight, and heavily boned for the size of the animal. Ears are to be bell-shaped and short, no longer than 1 inch below the chin.
Background Holland lop is known for its sweet temperament and non aggressive behavior . A gorgeous breed marked its beginnings when a man by the name of De Cock sought to combine the best qualities from two rabbit breeds, the French Lop (known for being large and having floppy ears) and the Netherlands Dwarf rabbits, into a new breed. His scheme was to breed a petite French lop with the body features of a Netherlands dwarf, thus creating quite a challenge.
In the winter of 1949-50, De Cock decided to breed a White Netherlands Dwarf Doe to a French Lop Buck and obtained undesired dwarf lop rabbits. Unsatisfied, he decided to switch the genders in the breeds, he bred a French Lop Doe and a Netherlands Dwarf Buck, and got six miniature lops. In addition, De Cock bred an English Lop Buck and a Netherlands Dwarf and obtained five lopped rabbits, two rabbits with upright ears, and the remaining ones were with half-lopped ears. He later thought that if he could make the lopped-ear rabbits reproduce, he would get the Holland lop, but got disappointed and unwanted looking rabbits were born. Finally, he inseminated a half-lopped doe rabbit to a buck from one of the initial breeding of six rabbits, producing what we know today as the Holland Lop.

Mini Lop : Also known as a "German Lop".

The Mini Lops have a muscular build with broad shoulders and a heavy hind quarters, a big, blocky head, lopped ears, deep chests, and short, thick legs. rabbit should resemble a Bulldog in appearance, they are very much like the Holland Lop. They are a close relative of the Netherland Dwarf, The name Mini Lop is a bit of an understatement for they are the second smallest Lop eared Rabbit
Background : Mini Lops were derived from German lops called "Kleine Widder" lops, but it is thought that a variety of breeds have been used in developing the Mini Lop. In the USA, it is the second smallest lop overall, as well as the smallest non dwarf lop. Mini Lops were recognized as their own accepted breed in the United States in 1980, The first 2 colors were Agoutis and a white coming from a broken color French Lop and a Standard Chinchilla.

The mini Lop was Discovered by Bob Herschbach at a German National Rabbit Show in Essen, Germany in 1972,at that time they were known as a Klein Widder .

1978, Herschbach and Dyke created a correspondence club for the Mini Lops. Within a year, they had over 500

Lionhead

One of the newest breed of domesticated rabbits, becoming very popular It has particularly long hair surrounding the face, looking like the mane of a male lion , hence the name. Other characteristic traits of the Lionhead is small in size with short ears ( shorted than other rabbits) and a round head, usually between 2.5 and 3.5 pounds.

The Lionhead rabbit originated in Belgium. It is reported to have been produced by breeders trying to breed a long coated dwarf rabbit by crossing a miniature Swiss Fox and a Belgian dwarf. The Lionhead seemed to have been more popular than the long coated dwarf, and so breeders carried on this trend in breeding them intentionally, and so came what we know today as the Lionhead rabbit.

The breed has been recognized by the British Rabbit Council , however as of yet it is not a fully recognized breed in the ARBA.

Silver Marten Breed

The Silver Marten is a medium length rabbit it has long white hair that comes through the base coat color they come in four color varieties are available in this breed: black, blue, sable, and chocolate, the long white hair should be ticked across each side of the body. They have white inside the nostrils and ears around the eyes and on the belly inside the legs and under the tail a and a white triangle at the nape of the neck.

Weighing 6-9 1/2 pounds,.

The (color) called Silver Marten is found in a few different breeds. They are, however, a not the sliver martin breed, the breed was originally bred from the chinchilla rabbit

Mini Rex (also known as Velveteen rabbit)

The Mini Rex, is a well proportioned rabbit it has a velvet like fir, they are a very popular breed with the ARBA there fir is a 35% of their score when showing, the Mini Rex is easy to breed
They are one of the smaller rabbits Weight : 3 to 4 1/2 lbs.
ARBA accepted varieties : Black, Blue, Blue Eyed White, Broken Group, Castor, Chinchilla, Chocolate, Himalayan, Lilac, Lynx, Opal, Red, Sable Point, Seal, Tortoise, White, Otter (blue, black, chocolate)
The Mini Rex is a fairly new breed it was accepted for its third showing at the 1988 Convention in Madison,WI it was originated and sponsored by Mona Berryhill of Texas

Dutch

The Dutch rabbit is one of the most popular of all rabbit breeds and is know by its color pattern, however now that the dwarf rabbits was developed they are not as popular as they were in the pasted how ever the Dutch rabbit is still on the top ten list of popular rabbit breeds.

The Dutch rabbit , easily identifiable by its characteristic color pattern, was once the most popular of all rabbit breeds. However, after , the popularity of the Dutch rabbit dwindled. Nevertheless, the Dutch rabbit remains one of the top ten most popular breeds worldwide.

Although the name suggests that the Dutch rabbit is from the Netherlands, it was actually developed in England.
